Colin Kaepernick made headlines this past week when he decided to use his oppressed position of power to protest unfair treatment towards minorities by sitting while the national anthem was being played. Kaepernick gained the countries attention, some for better and some for much worse. One of his fellow athletes who is not impressed with his antics is the legendary basketball superstar, Shaquille O’neal.

O’neal has never been afraid to speak out, but on Wednesday, in an interview with Fox and Friends he condemned the actions of the football player, saying “I don’t know Colin, but again, to each his own. I don’t really have a say on it, but I would never do that. My father was a military man, and you know, he protected this country. Uncles are in law enforcement, you know, they go out and work hard every day. Just, there are other ways to get your point across.”

Maybe Kaepernick needs to listen to the wisdom of his elders. Do you agree with Shaq? Be sure to let us know your thoughts in the comments!
