The weather is calling for a hot mulled wine. It’s so easy to make, you can put whatever spices you like, but here’s what i used for the mulled wine i made the other day.
half bottle of red wine (around 400 ml), mine was merlot
1 star anise
1 cinnamon stick
2 – 3 cardamom pods
3 – 4 cloves
2 slices fresh ginger
a little freshly ground black pepper
1 full tablespoon honey
an apple, an orange
Heat the wine with the spices and bring to simmer. Add the honey and stir until dissolved. put some diced apple in the glasses and pour the hot wine, with or without the spices. arrange orange circles on the rims of the glasses, that you can then put in the wine.
