Travelling is one of the most exciting and at the same time relaxing activities anyone can try. However, it is not the cheapest activity. If you do not have enough money you cannot go on plane and see beautiful places that are on the other part of the world. And if we have to be honest, money is the biggest obstacle for travelling. That is why we have decided to search for some ideas how one can travel for less money, while sometimes they are even paid to travel. Check out our ideas and you can share some of yours with us as well.
#1 Search for free activities in the place you are going
When you are travelling some of the most expensive things included are your travel ticket and the money for the hotel. The rest of the things you can decide whether they are important to do or not so much. The first thing you need to do when you decide on your travel destination is to search for free activities to do there. One of the best ones is just to go sightseeing. Walking the streets and taking pictures of interesting monuments is definitely free. Or you can go to the beach and stay there all day long, which could turn out to be the most pleasant vacation you have ever had. There are also a lot of festivals which you can enjoy for free.
I know it is not the safest way to travel, but for sure it is the cheapest. If you are with a friend of yours, you will feel more secure and you will be less likely to end up sharing car with a dangerous person. This method of transportation is suitable for places which are on relatively close distances. And if you do not feel comfortable hitchhiking, you can share your car with a couple more passengers. There are even some sites which offer their users to share information about the place they are going and how many people they want to share their car with. This way you will not only share one car, but also the travel expenses. This way you can also learn a few things about your co-travelers, so there will be no reason to worry.
#3 Sleep in a campsite
If you want to save money from staying at a hotel, just grab a tent and go sleeping in a campsite. A lot of people do this on special areas on beaches. This, of course, will work if the weather is hot and there are no rains. Sometimes sleeping in a tent may not turn out to be the best experience, but this only depends on the weather conditions. So, if you decide to try this way of saving money while travelling, make sure you have checked the weather forecast first.
#4 Travel to a less expensive destination
There are some beautiful places on the earth which are definitely worth seeing, but this does not necessarily mean that all of them are expensive. On the contrary, some countries offer quite cheap hotels. Even the food there is quite cheap, so you can eat as much as you want and you will find it even less expensive than in your own country. It all depends on the currencies and the places compared to the country you come from. The best thing to do is to make a search first of the cheapest destinations to go to and then decide where to go and how much money you are going to need.
#5 Get your own food
If you want to save money from food, you can take some food with you before you go. If you are not allowed to, you may cook, especially if you have a cooker you can use. This way you will surely not be hungry and you will not spend a lot of money in restaurants.
